Today on Earthbeat – The climate change bill introduced in the House may result in strong targets for renewables but it may also result in no greenhouse gas emissions reductions in the U.S. until 2030. We’ll have an in-depth look at the Waxman-Markey bill, and cast a critical eye on so-called ’sub-prime carbon.’ Joining us from the studios of KPFA in Berkeley, California are Barbara Haya of International Rivers and Michelle Chan of the Friends of the Earth.

Then, if legislation won’t do it, will regulation? Host Daphne Wysham discusses the EPA’s moves toward regulating carbon dioxide under the Clean Air Act with David Bookbinder, the chief climate counsel for the Sierra Club.
