Polar Bear Politics

polarbearcub.jpg

A Federal judge in California says the Bush Administration has to decide on the fate of our polar bears this week.

The feds have been dragging their feet and coming up with every excuse to keep from listing the polar bear as an
endangered species. On this edition of Earthbeat we'll get the latest on the status of polar bears in with wild - and in Washington. We'll also hear about the oil companies' plans to undermine polar bear protections even AFTER they're listed as endangered. Joining host Mike Tidwell is Mike Daulton, Director of Conservation for the National Audubon Society and Doug Inkley, senior scientist with the National Wildlife Federation.

Plus, Joe Romm will join us to discuss the latest climate news, including the emergence of 'Grolar Bears.' Romm is the voice behind the website Climate Progress.
