Green for All

Environmental Injustice is the other Inconvenient Truth. Earthbeat host Daphne Wysham speaks to two pioneers who combine environmental equality and climate change. The Reverend Lennox Yearwood of The Hip Hop Caucus joins Van Jones, the founder of Green for All, to discuss their efforts to combine the fight against global warming -- with the fight against poverty in America.
The aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita -- as well as the Bush Administration's incompetent response to the disaster -- underscored how environmental disasters do not affect our nation's Haves while devastating the Have-Nots. Joining us on the telephone from the Gulf Coast with an update on the rebuilding effort is Wilma Subra, a chemist with the Louisiana Environmental Action Network, and Marylee Orr, the group's executive director.
