The World Responds to Climate Change

icecreamW.jpg

The UN has released the first of three reports on climate change to much fanfare. But are the results of 'Working Group One' too conservative? Host Mike Tidwell speaks to an editor of the report - Mike MacCracken of The Climate Institute - about what went in, what came out, and what got watered down, and we'll get a view of what Washington will do with the report from Ben Dunham, a staff attorney for US PIRG.

The next stage of the UN report focuses on the impacts of climate change, but an international body has already weighed in - right now the World Health Organization estimates that 150 thousand people each year die as a direct result of climate change. Joining host Mike Tidwell to discuss the report is the WHO's Diarmid Campbell-Lendrum - and a world expert on fresh water, Peter Gleick, the President of the Pacific Institute.
